My Chemical Romance about new album

Kamis, 21 Juni 2012

My Chemical Romance have revealed that they will be recording their new studio album next month.

The band have been working on the follow-up to their 2010 album 'Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys' for the last year and guitarist Frank Iero has now said they are ready to record it.

Iero told The Aquarian that sessions "were going really well" and he and his bandmates "couldn't wait to start tracking".

Asked how the writing of the band's fifth album was going, Iero said: "It's going really well, actually. I'm really excited. I can’t wait to start tracking. I think we're maybe a month away from the record button lighting up."

The guitarist also confirmed that the band's current live drummer, former Suicide File man Jarrod Alexander, would indeed be playing drums on the band's new album. Alexander replaced the band's previous sticksman Michael Pedicone in September 2011, who Iero called "a thieving piece of garbage".

Asked whether Alexander would feature on album number five, Iero said: "Jarrod is a rad guy and a fantastic player. It's been really fun making music with him these past few months. He loves coffee and hitting drums super-hard and the fact that he’s not a thieving piece of garbage is a breath of fresh air."

Iero has previously said that his band's new LP wouldn't be "just a collection of songs" and said that they were eager to release another concept-heavy album.
